Before I get into breaking down the ins and outs of the YL business, let me share my ‘why’ with you...why I chose YL products and then in turn, why I decided to become a YL Brand Partner. When I first started exploring essential oils, I had a 1 year old, and had a super hard time adjusting to motherhood and the uncertainty of it all, as well as the loneliness that came with it. I was first drawn to the person that signed me up, because she was soooo kind and welcoming and offered her starter kit to me when my daughter was sick. From there, I was hooked. I always was annoyed with MLMers and thought it would NEVER be something I did, but when you actually love a product, that is really easy to share about, everything made much more sense to me! I had tried grocery store oils and many other brands, but I really noticed the quality and community of Young Living right away, and I was even more impressed with their ‘seed to seal’ promise, guaranteeing the quality of their oils.

The amazing thing about YL is that YES, you can purchase products as a customer and unlock wholesale prices without ever having to sell. BUT, the opportunity is always available if you change your mind. What I will say, is that it felt so amazing to get paid to share something that I love with others. I don’t like to leave money on the table. So once I saw how this thing worked, there was no turning back for me.

So what exactly is the business and how does it work?
YL is a multi-level-marketing structure business.
This simply means that as an organization, instead of hiring a marketing department—they hire us! YL pays their users a commission for organically sharing what they love about the products and helping others buy and do the same. A unique and beautiful part about network marketing is that it connects people.

Being a Brand Partner with YL automatically connects you with a team and a community of others with shared passions and goals. Later, I’ll explain some of the YL lingo that will help you as we get into the business basics.

A significant change that happened during the summer of 2021 is that YL created the opportunity for customers to unlock wholesale prices without being a Brand Partner or earning a commission. They also made available new ways to purchase YL products, lowering the barrier for individuals interested in exploring oils but not ready to spend $160+ for a starter kit, which made it even easier for you to introduce oils to others.  Let’s dive in to Commission 101!

Have you ever wondered if you can really make money by sharing something you love with others

YL has an amazing compensation plan that is designed to set you up for success. Even more, there is a wealth of resources provided directly from YL and through your support team. If you are wondering how it works once you decide to become a Brand Partner, I got you covered. It’s as simple as sharing your referral link with your friends & family so they can purchase YL products through your link.

During the first 3 calendar months of a new customer's enrollment, 25% of the new customer’s PV, up to a maximum of $200 per month, is paid as a bonus to their enroller. And 10% bonus applies to the person a new member may have been placed directly under.  Click this link to check out YL 2020 Income Disclosure Statement: https://www.youngliving.com/.../opportu.../income-disclosure.

If you ever wanted a job that allows you to be your own boss, set your own hours, work remotely, and doesn't require inventory or shipping, then becoming a Young Living Brand Partner might just be the perfect opportunity for you.
Don’t misunderstand me, this is not a get-rich-quick thing. It requires work and dedication to build a business that you will love, but it is a rewarding and life-giving journey! One of the things that you will hear from Brand Partners over and over again is the benefits of community that you get working with a team. It will be the greatest benefit to have people to join alongside you and walk this wellness journey togethers.

Becoming a brand partner is the first step to embarking on building a business with Young Living. You do it by purchasing your brand partner kit ($29.95). This includes a TON of resources to get started but also unlocks access to our virtual office and allows you to use your member number as a referral link. New customers can then use your referral number when they create their account and you can unlock commission on their orders! We will get a little more into some of this later!
For now, let’s introduce you to someYL lingo that will be helpful in understanding how the business can work for you.

Your Support Team (Upline): Includes your Enroller, the person that introduced you to Young Living and your Sponsor, your direct upline, and main support.

Brand Partner: An individual who enrolls in the YL Brand Partner Program & who is eligible to earn a commission. This requires the one-time purchase of a Business Essentials Kit ($29.95).

Personal Value (PV): Each product is assigned a PV amount, and each month the sum of the PV amounts of all products purchased. This is what the commission calculations are based on.

Collective Value (CV): The collective PV of a Brand Partner’s first-level customers who haven’t enrolled a friend plus the brand partner’s own PV. (this applies to the first 4 rankings: Associate, Star, Senior Star, and Executive) *to qualify to earn commissions, a Brand Partner must have at least 100CV.

Levels: The position of a YL individual within the organization.

Once you’ve got your Brand Partner Kit (remember, it’s literally $30 and worth every dang penny!) let’s move on to some other vital things.

Consider enrolling in Subscribe to Save- this is an optional auto-shipping program and a great way to become more familiar with different products. You will earn 10-25% back on your order in points that you can later use to purchase YL products. You can even set up your items to be shipped every 1, 2, or 3 months.

YL doesn’t want you spending money until you make money which is amazing, but, you need to be using the products in order to know if you actually love them and why.
There are no spend requirements for BPs but if you plan to shop Young Living you should definitely subscribe to your products.

When you add items to auto-ship, you unlock 24% off of your entire purchase. You also qualify for monthly gifts with purchase which include full size products and oils to try for free. And lastly, when you spend 50pv (avg. $50) a month you can qualify for the loyalty program and unlock a percentage back in store credit points to cash in for more products as well!

Once you have started using oils & taken the first steps in becoming a Brand Partner, the next question most people have is, “How do I sell?” & this step is actually easier than you think! Be authentic & share about the products you love & how they have benefited you. Let others into your journey via social media. Post a Reel, a story, or a Carousel educating your audience about the products you use every day and how you benefit from them. If you are unsure about starting on social media, I have great resources to help you get started.
But these 3 things are key: be consistent, educate your audience, and invite others to join you in your journey. When others show interest in the product all you have to do is share your referral link with them. Build a connection with your customers by providing guidance through the purchase process & helpful resources on how to use their oils.

Taking Care of New Customers is KEY to growing a business.
So what do you do when you first sign someone up?

1) Send them a welcome email. Doesn’t have to be super fancy. Just reach out! (we have templates in our biz group)

2) Add them to our education Facebook group! Inquire if they’d be interested in our business group (you never know until you ask!) and tag them in a few posts in those groups. Don’t forget the pinned post at the top!

3) Send them a few graphics that are applicable to them: PSK uses, diffuser recipes, roller recipes, Thieves recipes, Ningxia facts, CBD facts, etc. I would pick 1-3 to send through whatever way you communicate. Resources also free in our biz group!

4) After a week or so, invite them to an intro to oils class or tag them in a previous one. Make sure they are super supported and educated right from the beginning!

5) CULTIVATE COMMUNITY! Check in often about LIFE, comment when they post, tag them in things that are applicable, zoom or chat on the phone, invite them into your circle, and when comfortable DREAM CALL THEM!

If someone is willing to invest in becoming a customer, they are already won over. It’s our job to take care of them and help them to get the most out of their products. It’s our job to keep inviting and educating on how these amazing products are a great start, but its just that - a START. We want people to experience the full benefits of Ningxia, supplements, hormone support, and more!

In this biz you are working for yourself. You choose the pace, your work hours, your boundaries- you decide what it looks like and what drives you to continue. As freeing as that is, it also requires a level of diligence and self-motivation to show up when no one is “requiring it.” You have to hold yourself accountable to share, educate, meet needs, pour into relationships and essentially market your product just like any other small business. But the beauty here is that you don’t have all of the extra costs or hurdles of running a small business because Young Living does all of that for you!

The hardest part is simply showing up for work; if you can master that, you’ll find major success here.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read through all of this! We hope that this has given you more clarity about what being a Brand Partner is all about!

If you have any additional questions we would love to connect with you further. It has been so great to have the opportunity to share with you something that we are so passionate about!
